BillKeep ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Citadel Labs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use BillKeep.
Data you enter: BillKeep stores the bills, income entries, budgets, and preferences you create within the app. This data is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to our servers.
Bill scanning images: When you use the AI bill scanning feature (Premium), the photo you capture is sent to a third-party AI service (Anthropic's Claude API) for text extraction. The image is processed in real-time and is not stored by us or by Anthropic after processing. Only the extracted text data (merchant name, amount, date, category) is returned to the app and stored locally on your device.
PDF report insights: When you generate a PDF report with AI insights (Premium), a summary of your spending data (totals and categories only, no personal details) is sent to the Claude API to generate personalized recommendations. This data is not stored after processing.
We do not collect, store, or have access to your name, email address, or contact information. No account is required to use BillKeep. We do not collect your bank account, credit card, or financial institution details. We do not collect your location data or device identifiers for tracking purposes. We do not collect any personal data beyond what you voluntarily enter into the app.
All your bill data, income entries, budgets, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate servers that store your personal financial data.
Anthropic (Claude API): Used for AI bill scanning and PDF report insights. Images and spending summaries are sent to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy can be found at anthropic.com/privacy. Anthropic does not use your data to train their AI models.
Apple StoreKit: Used for managing Premium subscriptions. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.
Apple WidgetKit: Used for home screen widgets. Widget data is derived from your locally stored bill data and shared securely between the app and widget using App Groups.
BillKeep offers auto-renewable subscriptions managed through the Apple App Store. Payment is processed by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
BillKeep is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all your data at any time by using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings, or by deleting the app from your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
